Carbon Dioxide is a naturally occurring, colorless and odorless gas and makes up approximately 0.03% of the atmosphere. This is a crucial addition to the Gas Africa product list
The most common use of Medical grade Carbon Dioxide is in the performance of minimal invasive surgery – including Laparoscopy, Endoscopy and Arthroscopy – where body cavities are enlarged and stabilized providing better visibility of the surgical area
Other areas of use include:
- Increasing cerebral blood flow during some surgeries
- Stimulating respiration in cases of hyperventilation and chronic respiratory obstruction removal, amongst others
- Increasing the depth of respiration during various procedures
