ABO
At high altitudes, atmospheric air contains insufficient oxygen to support normal breathing. For this reason, aircraft are designed to process and condition outside air before distributing it throughout the cabin.
Air Breathing Oxygen (ABO) is supplied in high-pressure cylinders to local and international airlines and is used by pilots operating non-pressurised aircraft as well as during emergency decompression scenarios.
Every departing flight is required to undergo a series of mandatory safety checks, including verification of oxygen flow throughout the aircraft’s systems. In the event of a cabin depressurisation or system failure, oxygen masks are automatically deployed, allowing ABO to flow and ensuring the respiratory safety of passengers and crew.
In addition to aviation oxygen, Gas Africa supports turnkey projects that require Air Breathing Oxygen alongside other industrial gases, offering reliable supply, technical support, and coordinated logistics.
