Quality Assurance
Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is a fundamental pillar of Gas Africa’s operations and underpins every stage of its medical and industrial gas supply chain. The company operates under clearly defined internal quality policies that govern production, filling, handling, storage, and delivery, ensuring all products consistently meet required specifications and customer expectations.
Gas Africa maintains an in-house Quality Management team responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving quality systems across the organisation. This team oversees compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer standards, while working closely with operations, production, and logistics teams to ensure quality is embedded in daily activities.
Rigorous testing protocols are applied to verify gas purity, pressure levels, and cylinder integrity before any product is released for distribution.
Each batch undergoes controlled checks to confirm compliance with specified purity standards, while pressure verification and leakage testing ensure cylinders are safe, secure, and fit for use. These controls are supported by calibrated equipment, documented procedures, and trained technical personnel.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) form the backbone of Gas Africa’s quality framework. All SOPs are system-driven, formally documented, and regularly reviewed to reflect operational improvements, evolving regulations, and industry best practices. Employees are trained on applicable procedures and updated whenever changes are introduced, ensuring consistency, accountability, and traceability across production, maintenance, and logistics functions.
Gas Africa is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for its Quality Management System. This certification reflects a structured, process-based approach to quality, focusing on risk management, continual improvement, and customer satisfaction. Quality principles are integrated throughout all documentation, from staff training records and production logs to logistics documentation and delivery records.
In addition to internal controls, Gas Africa engages independent third-party service providers for external verification and testing as required. These independent assessments provide additional assurance of product quality and compliance, reinforcing confidence among customers and stakeholders. Through a combination of in-house expertise and external validation, Gas Africa consistently delivers safe, reliable, and high-quality medical and industrial gas solutions.
